data: Hideous Masses are a rare occurrence, when an excessive amount of Hell Mass is poured into a single shell, causing it to overflow and burst at the seams. Due to the broken seams allowing for mobility without having to bend the exterior, the stone has hardened more than the shell of most demons, making it completely impervious to all currently known attacks.

The Hideous Mass is first introduced as a boss in 1-3. It's primary attack is to launch two hell mortars. These can be parried and can also be exploded with the Pericer revolver alt fire parrying a hell mortar into the mass will deal a great amount of it's hp. It will also slam into the ground causing a shockwave that needs to be jumped over. The mass will also slam it's hands? into eachother to create a vertical shockwave that is easy to dodge with a side dash. It is also able to fire a harpoon from it's tail that will slow V1 down and stop it from jumping. The harpoon can be parried and if attached to V1 can be forcefully retracted by shooting the tail or punching with the Knuckleblaster after reaching about 20% it will become enraged. It will flip onto it's back and only fire hell mortars. best way to kill them is to set up a triple railcoin bounceback if done properly it will instantly kill it.
